About the Author

Kenneth A Millman

Kenneth A. Millman is a man who traded nine major newspaper newsrooms, culminating as Editor of Special Publications at The Miami Herald, for the open sea. A Navy Vietnam veteran, he served as a submariner and diver before earning his journalism degree. Retiring at 55, he embraced the life of a sailing charter captain in the Bahamas, his dream job. Along the way, he’s been a firefighter, coach, and family man. Now in Florida, he continues to seek adventure and coach high school wrestling, proving that the best stories come from a life well and wildly lived.

PromethiusGreat read!
What a fantastic read from start to finish. What a life well lived, full of yes, sometimes heartache and heart break, but so many adventures, so many places he’s lived in and traveled to. You don’t hear stories like these anymore, at least not from my peers. Thoroughly enjoyed it and high recommend it.
Barbara TrumbleGreat read
This book reads like you’ve know Ken your entire life. I picked it up and never put it down. I actually met him in the Bahamas before his book writing days. He is as easy to talk to as his book is to read. I highly recommend Memoirs of an Old Fart.
Amazon CustomerGreat read
Fascinating story of the life of a man who when felt a wild hair, immediately took off to see where it took him. Always a challenge to overcome. What's next is a constant thread. Sat down & read it cover to cover. Well done.

The excellent book is factual, funny and fascinating, a story about someone packing far more into his life than anyone I know. The title Memoirs of an Old Fart, is not for the faint of heart.

PeterA Life Well Lived...
This is a detailed retrospective on a remarkable life, well lived. Captain Ken shares it all... the good, the bad, and the somewhat blemished... in nice sized bites that make it easy to read and yet hard to put down. This is the kind of book we all wish we could write someday...
